WayMe uses GPS and virtual geofences to detect if you stray from your planned route. If you leave the safe zone, you’ll receive an off-track alert so you can quickly return to your path.
Yes! WayMe supports offline maps and navigation. Plan and download your route before your hike, and stay informed even when there’s no signal.
LiveTracking lets you share a private link with friends or family so they can follow your progress in real time. Only those you choose can access this link.
With ProgressCheck and OverTime Alerts, WayMe monitors your movement and compares it to your planned hike. If you’re behind schedule and don’t respond to prompts, your emergency contacts will be automatically notified with a link to your last known location.
Yes! You can:
- Select routes from our preloaded trail library
- Plot your own route directly in the app
- Upload GPX files for custom or race-specific paths
Yes! After completing a hike, you can share your route and adventure highlights directly to your social media or within the WayMe community.
WayMe uses GPS to track your location, which may slightly increase battery usage. However, we’ve optimized the app for efficiency. For example, on an iPhone 16 Pro, WayMe can typically run for 7+ hours before needing to recharge. Actual performance may vary depending on your device, network conditions, and other active apps.
Yes! If you prefer to hike without safety alerts, select “Just Hike” mode and tap Start. WayMe will record your route without triggering safety features. You’ll still have access to offline maps and can use LiveTracking if desired.
